Who is responsible for damaged items?

As a decentralised e-commerce platform, our app aims to make its user experience and processes as similar as possible to traditional online marketplaces, whilst removing many of the problems and inefficiencies. Sellers are responsible for safe delivery of items, and we use an escrow system to manage disputes between buyers and sellers.

Delivery is the seller’s job to arrange on behalf of the buyer, and therefore also the seller’s responsibility. If an item is damaged in transit, it remains up to the seller to resolve this with the buyer and to recoup costs from the delivery company if possible. The costs of any breakages or damage are not imposed on the buyer.

The escrow system is designed to ensure that buyers are protected until they take possession of the items they ordered, and that funds are not released to the seller until safe receipt has been confirmed.
